Aider
The reliable path: a shell one-liner
Section titled “The reliable path: a shell one-liner”Aider has no dedicated skill-file slot, so the most portable integration is
wiring chime notify directly into whatever shell action or hook Aider
exposes:
chime notify "Aider finished the requested change" --alias aiderThat’s the entire integration surface: install the CLI (see
Install), pair once (see Quickstart),
then call chime notify from a shell step whenever you want a ping on your
phone. chime receive polls for replies the same way, from any shell:
chime receive --alias aiderMCP, if your Aider version has it enabled
Section titled “MCP, if your Aider version has it enabled”Where Aider’s MCP support is available, register chime the same way as any
other MCP host — see the generic pattern on the Cursor page — and use
chime_wait / chime_receive from MCP to listen for replies.
Treat this as a bonus path, not the primary one: the shell one-liner above
works regardless of MCP support and is what to reach for first.

chimecommand reference. - Integrations — every harness and its status.
